Woman Fatally Shot in South Shore; Homicide Investigation Underway

CHICAGO — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a young woman Friday morning in the South Shore neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side.

The victim has been identified as Edshania Williams, 26, according to Chicago police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. Williams was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the head in the 7100 block of South Ridgeland Avenue at approximately 9:20 a.m. Friday.
