MACON, Ga. — The Macon community is mourning the tragic loss of India Norwood Davis, 41, who was fatally shot Thursday afternoon, January 15, 2026, during an alleged armed robbery in the 2100 block of Adams Avenue, near Pio Nono Avenue.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene at approximately 3:55 p.m. after multiple 911 calls reported an incident. When officials arrived, Davis was found suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel attempted to provide aid, but she was pronounced dead at the scene by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. Her family has been notified of her passing.

Authorities later arrested a 15-year-old male, who has been charged with felony murder and armed robbery in connection with Davis’ death. Because the suspect is a juvenile, his name has not been released. He was taken into custody and transported to the Regional Youth Detention Center in Macon. Officials believe the arrest clarifies the events that led to Davis’ death, though the investigation remains ongoing.
